Dan Simpkins

I started Prometheus Planning because I saw a niche in the market for a boutique local government-orientated planning business.

With a 20-year career in government, specialising in strategic planning and policy development I bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record of delivering impactful planning solutions.

By finding pragmatic solutions for 40 long-standing rezonings, I helped remove over 53,000 assessment days from the planning system and reduced the average timeframe for a rezoning across the Hunter and Central Coast from 1,200 days to 350 days.

Strategic planning is more than just a career to me; it is a lifelong passion that drives my professional pursuits.

The story of Prometheus

Prometheus was a titan who formed humankind in the image of the gods. He envisaged his creations with a greater purpose than simply worshiping the gods.

When Zeus forbade humankind the use of fire, Prometheus scaled Mount Olympus. He stole fire in a hollow fennel stork and gifted it to humankind. For this act of rebellion, Zeus punished Prometheus.

We celebrate Prometheus for his mischievous and inquisitive spirit, and for the knowledge, progress and empowerment he gave to humanity.

For this reason, our logo is fire in the fennel stork and our commitment is to empower local government with the power of a clear strategic plans to fast-track outcomes for their communities.
